lyrics
When I heard they were going for a space walk
I said that doesn't sound possible
it's weightless out there
I think you need gravity to walk
they were really going for a space float
in their space suit
you might argue that when they were on the moon
they went for a space walk
but i think everybody knows that what they did was a moon walk
but not like michael jackson
when i was about 17, 18, maybe 19, maybe 45 yrs old
i remember a time when it used to be different
how different I can't say
you seem to see a secret forest when you step forth into it
but really you're just walking into a regular forest
we do a lot of talking and a lot of walking and a lot of balking
at things that we don't like
dogs bark at things that they don't like, but they don't always bite
when i was 21, or 22, or maybe 6
i used to go outside and pick up things like rocks
one time when i did that i found a tooth
i thought it was a rock
it was not a rock, it was a tooth
and i found it and picked it up and i took it into my mom
and she, well she wasn't too happy
you see it was a human tooth
it washed down the river from the graveyard up the hill
five yards away there was a human skull
the police came and picked it up
and did a forensic test on it and decided...
that it was from a DEAD person
I'm not sure i've ever been so frightened in my entire delightful life
these are just some stories
these are just some words spoken
these are just some thoughts provoked forth by my tongue
and keen insight into my own space and time
when i was not quite born, or maybe ready to die
i saw god in the mirror
i saw god in the mirror
i saw the universe reflected in the mirror, of god
how does it feel to know you're falling?
and you're falling and falling and falling and falling
how does it feel
a lot like waking up in a cold sweat
terror, tears, and fear running through your veins
thick with the fish and the guts and the scrammy underbelly
cold dark hard life of nothingness that folds from within you
once.... when i was 20, maybe 25, or perhaps 50
i fell asleep in a pool
and i woke up floating
wondering, watching, waiting for something to happen
my feet were like prunes, and my eyes,
burned in the sunlight
